ThrivePoint of Nevada represents a cornerstone of ThrivePoint Schools, a pioneering educational organization dedicated to providing innovative learning experiences for students who face challenges in traditional schooling environments. Our work in Las Vegas stems from a deep connection and understanding of the needs in Nevada and a commitment to serve communities across the Southwest.

At the heart of our Nevada operations is Vince Medina, our Director of Schools. With a career spanning over two decades in education, Vince brings invaluable experience and a personal connection to the Las Vegas community. His journey—from navigating university life to becoming a passionate educator and leader—reflects the resilience, passion, and determination ThrivePoint Schools aim to instill in our students.

However, Vince’s story at ThrivePoint Schools is not unique to him; it’s part of a larger narrative that defines our mission. Our co-founders, Timothy Andrew Smith and Shannon Smith, laid the groundwork for our organization through their vision for accessible, quality education. Their story began with the establishment of e-Institute in Arizona, one of the state’s first charter schools, focused on international studies and language immersion.

However, as Timothy and Shannon sought to expand their reach, they recognized a critical need for alternative educational pathways. This realization led to the creation of ThrivePoint Academy in 2014 based in Arizona, which paved the way for further expansion across the Southwest, including our school in Las Vegas, NV and in Salt Lake City, Utah.
